Sessions & Events
Section detail view
Clicking a session card in the planner opens the Section detail view. This shows everything inside that session:
- The section title, start and end time, and assigned room(s)
- All events within the section, in order
- For each event: title, duration, relative start time, type, and assigned speakers
Events
Each event inside a section has:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Title | The event title as it will appear in the program |
| Type | Plenary, Symposium, Workshop, Talk, or Discussion |
| Duration | Length of the event in minutes |
| Relative start | Minutes from the start of the section |
Events can be nested — a talk can be a child of a symposium, for example.
Assigning speakers
Speakers and chairs are assigned to events via Assignments. Each assignment links a Person from the congress database to an event with a Role (e.g. Speaker, Chair, Moderator, Discussant).
To assign a speaker:
- Open the event inside the section detail view
- Click "Add Assignment"
- Search for the person by name
- Select their role
- Save
Scientific tags
Sessions can be tagged with one or more Scientific Tags. Tags are coloured and appear on session cards in the planner. They are also used to filter the program in the public-facing website.
Tags are managed by the administrator in the Admin Dashboard.
Rooms
A session can be assigned to one or more rooms. Multiple rooms are used when a session is broadcast across overflow spaces.
